SECURE-COM GPRS

When using a GPRS alarm transmission system such as Secure-Com, your Central Monitoring Station has much greater confidence. Fully redundant Dual IP GPRS paths makes sure all signals will get through everytime.

Multi-path, Dual Path and Multiple Control rooms.

  • More than one type of communications path available for alarm
  • If one path is unavailable, the alarm can be sent on an alternative path these paths might include PSTN (land line), GPRS, RadioNet etc.
  • Dual Path monitoring which means that the signal from the alarm panel will be sent from the PSTN line and GPRS unit at the same time together.
  • The Secure-Com unit can be monitored by up to 4 control rooms simultaneously.
  • Greater confidence that all alarms will be sent to your Central Monitoring Station
  • When the phone line is cut the alarm will still get to the monitoring station
What does a polled system mean?
  • Secure-Com in the monitored premises reports to the Monitoring Station on a regular basis (e.g. every 90 seconds)
  • Information that your alarm panel and alarm transmission equipment is functioning correctly (equipment integrity)
  • The best polled path systems use acknowledge polls so that both ends are sure the path is available and all equipment is working correctly.

What are the benefits of Secure-Com?

  • Secure transmission of alarms
  • Encrypted communications better than 256 bit AES
  • Two forms of authentication before the Secure-Com is accepted by the Network
  • The Secure-Com unit runs on RadioNet Monitoring's own GPRS VPN Network in conjunction with the Optus and Vodafone Network
  • All communications are acknowledged , Alarms, system faults, polls
  • Protection against Hacking
  • Multiple Communication Paths
  • Up to 4 possible communications paths for the transmission of alarms, GPRS, Radio, PSTN
  • In the event that the primary communications path is unavailable, Secure-Com selects an alternative communications path for transmission
  • Redundancy of communications paths greatly increases the system availability for alarm transmission
  • Being multi-path, if the polled system detects a fault in the network then this path can be automatically bypassed and another path established

Polled frequency

  • 90 second polling
  • 1 hour polling
  • 4 hour polling
